Old Antique Gilbert Black Mantel Shelf Clock 1900 NR

Antique Gilbert Black Mantel or Shelf Clock, 8 day time and half hour strike, from 1900 in excellent working condition, named Royal. Original finish restored. High gloss shine is that way without wax or polish. Has a single large dark red marbleized column on each side of the face with dark red marbleized moldings above and below the columns, that wrap around the sides. This clock also features lion paw feet and an ornate handle on each end. Incised gold design on the base and around the face in excellent condition, with little wear. Solid brass trim on the columns, bezel and brass centered face polished and finished. Paper time track (numbers) is replaced. Metal trimmings restored to their original antique gold finish with metal leaf, which retains its luster and will not turn brown (as gold paint does after a couple of years). Clock movement has been overhauled at some time in the recent past, worn bushings replaced. Clock movement has just been serviced (serviced means cleaned, lubricated, and balanced), using only the finest German synthetic lubricants. Synthetic lubricants are superior to standard petrochemical 'oils'. They have better lubricating qualities, are longer lasting and do not discolor, smell or become gummy with age, requiring less frequent maintenance. This clock is in excellent condition, except for a couple of very minor dings usual with a clock of this age. Clock strikes hour on a cathedral gong and the half hour on a bell. Wood back cover is original, key and pendulum bob are replacements.

Dimensions: 11 inches high, 17 inches wide, 7.5 inches deep.

Antique 1879 SETH THOMAS "NASHVILLE V.P." CITY CLOCK shelf mantle mantel RUNS!

For auction is a great 1879 antique SETH THOMAS "NASHVILLE V.P." 1-day or 30-hour CITY CLOCK. These are also known as shelf clocks or mantle clocks. This exact clock can be found in Tran Duy Ly's Seth Thomas book on p. 200 #569.

The dial and bezel are original, as you can tell by its age and the "ST" emblem on it. It is a paper dial surrounded by an inner and outer bezel. The inner dial is loose and it looks like someone has put tape around the back of it to help keep the dial in place. The hands look to be original and are metal. The outer wood surrounding the dial is in good shape but next to the screw hole on the right side does have a place where the wood has split. This can't be seen unless you remove the wooden piece though.

The glass door is in great condition with no scratches or breaks. There are some very light pin-like marks that you can see if you examine the glass very closely but these can't be seen from a distance of 1 foot or more. The hinges are in good shape and sold.

The case is in very good shape. with very few scratches as you can see in the pictures. The left & right bottom front corners have a 1/4" place where the wood has split off, but that is the only flaw I see in the case.          

Movement Condition: The movement is an authentic Seth Thomas as you can see in the pictures.

          Time: The time side winds and does keep time.  

          Strike: The strike side does wind and works. It strikes on the hour the number of times corresponding to the correct hour.

          Pendulum: The star gold and silver star pendulum comes with the clock. I do not however have the key, as I tested this clock using one from another clock I had. I was hoping I had a replacement key but do not have another one.

Antique 1874 WATERBURY "CLIFTON" SHELF CLOCK kitchen mantle mantel wood RUNS!

For auction is a beautiful antique 1874 WATERBURY "CLIFTON" shelf or mantel clock in a nice walnut case. This 8-day clock looks to be all original and does run and strike.

The movement is in running condition and it does keep time and strike on the hour, the number of times per the corresponding hour. Both the time and strike side wind up freely, the movement is a little dirty though and could probably use a cleaning. The clock does have an alarm component in place and while the clock runs and strikes on the hour, the alarm does not work and doesn't seem to have the hammer in place to strike it. I'm a novice clock person so I'm not exactly sure what it would take to get the alarm to work.

The dial is paper and does have some place worn on it as you can see in the pictures. The bezel is metal and screws in place well. The hands on the clock are metal and in good shape.

The glass door on the case is in very good condition with no breaks and very few if any scratches. The white painting on the glass is for the most part complete which is rare for a clock this old.

The walnut wood case has some worn places on it, especially where the door has been opened several times and there is a small crack on the left side of the case behind the door, this isn't noticeable from the front however. Other than that it is in pretty good condition with no major cracks or gauges in it. The back still does have most of the paper on it, featuring the "CLIFTON" name of the clock, as the pictures show.

The pendulum and key come with the clock as shown. The key isn't the original but does fit both striking and winding sides of the clock.

Measurement: 20" tall x 12 1/2" long x 4 3/8" deep.

This is a great old WATERBURY "CLIFTON" clock and would make a great addition to any collection. I'm starting at a low price. If you have any questions please let me know or give me a call (417-499-1331). Thank you.

Measures 17 1/2" high by 9 1/2" wide by 6" deep

As shown, the face is damaged and there is wear to the body.  
The foot was broken but it is still there.  

I've owned this for years and traded it for a Gustav Stickley rocker (obviously, I got the better deal).
I have only ever seen one other like it.  

It needs to be cleaned in order to run properly.  The spring is off but I have it and the key.

The piece is marked on the face (you can see the & Co still in the pictures and in person, you can see the outline of the rest of the original mark).  The movement is also marked and the key is marked "France."

Antique Miniature German Wecker Dual Wind Alarm Clock Works Well Needs Attention

An antique Victorian era miniature German Wecker Alarm carriage clock in working order, keeping good time but with problems.

It is 1 7/8" square not including its handle and has an undamaged but slightly worn case.

The dial and glass are undamaged but the minute hand has broken off and the dial is slightly soiled.

It winds both ways (this type has a dual wind action, clockwise for the time side and counter clockwise for the alarm), and the alarm activates OK (I have added a link to it doing so)

Unfortunately, the alarm set rod has pulled clean out and I'm including the wheel that was with it.

The movement has the Ansonia "C" markings on the movement. The movement is a spring wound eight day time only movement, it has been ultrasonically cleaned and oiled and is in very good operating condition it is running very well and keeping good time here at the house.

Crafted in hardwood solids and veneers.  Pediment face features a handsome hand carved shell motif and raised hand cut molding details.

Four piece canted front columns with hand carved encantus top and bottom caps.

Upper and lower hinged front doors. 

Beveled and sculptured lower front door glass.  Beveled glass side panels.

Exquisite bombe shaped four tiered base design includes hand carved ornamentation.  Distinctive antique moon dial with intricate corner spandrels and center decor.  Applied Arabic numerals and midnight blue moon disc.  Antiquelyre pendulum with casted center decor and brass color rods.  Decorative antique brass type banded weight shells. Pendulum driven chime movement 31-day German wind movement. RARE Antique Seth Thomas Adamantine Mantel Clock (BEAUTIFUL)

 Antique Seth Thomas Adamantine 8 day time and strike Mantel Clock. This clock was has an original manufacturer stick on the back.  The sticker says 1889 Pat. date.  On the bottom it looks like 190? date? 

Overall very nice condition considering its age.  The case including the legs is 18 3/4 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches deep and stands 11 1/4 inches tall. The deep red original adamantine finish is in very good condition showing only a few minor scratches mainly on top (see pics). It has a "Tiger Maple" type appearence on the top.  The metal decorative pieces including the feet, column holders, and lions heads are all original and show virtually no wear. The 4 beautiful half columns are also in great condition.  I believe it is all original.

I do NOT know if it works, but I believe it should, given the nice complete condition.  If I had a key I would test it, but I do not.  I believe replacement keys are easily found?  Please ask any questions about the clock that you may have.  It really is a BEAUTIFUL clock!

ANTIQUE WELL MADE EUROPEAN 8 DAY TIME STRIKE CLOCK MOVEMENT WORKING

8 day time and Strike Clock Movement.

The only markeing on it are numbers "4 3/4' and "3443".

When we took it out of the box it started ticking right away and the strike appears to be working too.

It will proabbly need cleaning, oil and adjustment.

Measures approx 2 1/4" between winding arbors and 1 1/4" main shaft to winding arbor.

Antique Miniature German Wecker Dual Wind Clock Alarm Works But Needs Attention

An antique Victorian era miniature German Wecker Alarm carriage clock in nice condition with a working alarm but a broken or detached time mainspring.

It is 1 7/8" square not including its handle and has an undamaged but slightly worn case.

It winds both ways (this type has a dual wind action, clockwise for the time side and counter clockwise for the alarm), and the alarm activates OK (I have added a link to it doing so)

I do not know the condition of the balance staff, sometimes it swings, at others it does not.

Antique Miniature HAC Wurttemberg Wooden Mantel Clock Bun Feet Needs Servicing.

An antique Victorian era miniature HAC Wurttemberg wooden mantel timepiece not working but probably just needing to be serviced.

It is 4" high by 5 1/2" wide with an area of damage to its enamel dial but a good glass.

It winds fully and the staff is OK so I'm guessing the oil has dried out over years of not being used. It does tick for a short time.

face is 2 1/2 inches wide,
the top of the clock is hinged to allow access to clock,
clock pops out and you wind it,
works fine,
constructed with all 3/8 inch wood,
absolutely no ply used,
has wire on rev erse to allow it to be hung,
one of the hinges is pulling away
but overall excellent condition

Up for auction here is an Antique American Industrial Time Clock.

Manufactured by International Time Recording Co. of New YorkThere are four patent dates indicated on this piece: 1894, 1904, 1905, and 1908It has a wood cabinet which measures approximately 48-1/2" H x 17" W x 10" D.It can sit on a counter o hung on a wall.The clear glass panel in front measures 10-1/2" x 22-1/2".The face of the clock measures 10" in diameter.Near the bottom is where a timecard would have been inserted to get stamped.  There is a lever to select whether you will be punching in or out and the time of day: Morning IN; Noon OUT; Noon IN; Night OUT; Extra IN; Extra OUT.  On the side of the timeclock is a handle which you turn to select the date of the month.  Finally, there is a lever with a knob which you push/pull down to stamp the timecard (a bell rings when you do this).  The ink ribbon currently in the clock is pretty dry, so the time stamp is light.Overall, this clock is in good to very good physical/cosmetic condition giving consideration to its age.  There is a little bit of paint splatter on the right side of the cabinet.  We could not test the clock to see if it is functioning properly.  The pendulum is included, but the key(s) is not.  The levers at the bottom for the time stamping all seem to be working fine.Please see our photos for further details.Before placing a bid, please note that this item is being listed as a Local Pickup Only auction.  This means that the winning bidder will need to pick it up within 7 days of auction-end from our store in Hillside, IL, located approximately 15 miles west of downtown Chicago.  Illinois sales tax will apply (9.5%),
