This auction represents unique example of a vintage men's timepiece of one of the most known and recognized Swiss brands. It was made by “Omega Factory”. The watches under the trade mark 'OMEGA’ always differed by style, accuracy and fidelity to the best traditions of watch affair.
This model of timepiece features an unusual fantastic-beautiful new dial. Unfortunately the former dial has been strongly spoilt; therefore it has been professionally changed to new one. The new face features a 60 minute checkered outer track border with numbering, black Arabic numerals with the red figure ”12”, original blue steel hands and a sub-second’s dial. The dial is signed ‘OMEGA’ with trademark Omega symbol above this.
This astonishing timepiece has a four-piece, double hinged case that testifies about a quality of watch. The inner dust cover lid was used to protect the mechanism from dust and debris and to provide an extra layer of protection from shock or moisture. The inside of outer lid has also the old trademark Omega symbol and case reference number #5.293.232. The serial number on the case places the date of production of this piece at ca. 1914. The back lid with a wonderful engraved patina is in good status for vintage watch. There is a beautiful engraved spot for monogram.
Watches of this model are widely known; they have won the Grand Prix at the Paris watch exhibition in 1900. On the inner lid there are a corresponding inscription and medals from this prestigious exhibition.
This unique mechanical watch has an original movement in an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch.
