If you have been collecting interesting watches for a while, I think you’re going to appreciate the following antique timepiece of one of the most known and recognized Swiss brands. It was made by “Omega Factory” at the beginning of XX century. The watches under the trade mark 'OMEGA’ always differed by style, accuracy and fidelity to the best traditions of watch affair.
This admirable timepiece features an unusual fantastic-beautiful dial. The former dial has been strongly spoilt; therefore it has been professionally changed to new one. The new face features a 60 minute checkered outer track border with red-black numbering, black Arabic numerals with the red figure ”12”, original blue steel hands of Brequet-style and a sub-second’s dial at the nine o’clock position. The dial is signed ‘OMEGA’ with trademark Omega symbol above this.
This astonishing model of timepiece has a four-piece, double hinged case made especially for qualitative vintage watch to protect the mechanism from dust and debris and to provide an extra layer of protection from shock or moisture. The existence of an inner dust cover lid is a good sign of a quality watch. The inside outer and inner lid of the case has reference number #3228287. This number on the case places the date of production of this piece at ca. 1902. The inside of outer lid has the trademark Omega symbol. On the inner lid there is an inscription about prestigious exhibition at the Paris where Omega has won the Grand Prix and medals of this prestigious exhibition. The back lid has a patina and a free spot for the monogram.
The original movement of this mechanical watch is in an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch.
This watch was remade for use as a wristwatch. This was quite common, as it became “fashionably” for men to wear wristwatches.
