A magnificent Old Large and nicely shaped Dutch Sallander moondial clock.
The clock was made in Germany.
Beautiful dark, shiny, massive oak wood.
The moondial shows a sun when it is day, and stars when it is night.
The measurements are approx. 28 "( 70 cm ) high , 9 "( 22 cm ) width and 6 1/2 inch ( 16 cm ) deep.
It contains a movement of about 7 days and it chimes beautifully on the half and full hour.
It is weight driven by two brass cillindrical shaped weights.
The dial of the clock is decorated with a handpainted landscape of oilpaint.
According to Greek mythology; Atlas carries the kingdom of heaven on his shoulder as a punishment for his pride for fighting Zeus, that way he is preventing heaven to fall down on earth. Atlas is also the God of Astronomy that explains somewhat the presence on clocks .
Statue on top of Atlas who is carrying the world on his shoulders. Next to Atlas there are two angels that are blowing the horn and having a mirror in the other hand.
The painting on the dial shows people who are fishing with a dutch bridge.
The clockwork is checked and oiled, done by a clockmaker. It works perfectly.
As you can see on the pictures of this beautiful shaped clock, the whole of the outside is in a good condition.
The clock is a jewel on the wall.
The clock was made by a famous clockmaker in Holland in the 20th century.

'I pack the items very good. The items are sold as I offer them. There is a possibillity that the clock has little scratches, this is because the clock is antique. Damages due rough handling during the transport are not my responsibillity. I will pack it as good as I can. I have 15 year experience in packing with good material. There is a chance that the clock needs to be adjusted when you recieve it. If you buy two clocks from me I will give a discount on shipping for the 2nd clock.'
