Antique New Haven Mantle Clock wind-up Has UNUSUAL WRITING on Bottom SEE PICTURE

Up for bid is a New Haven U.S.A. Antique Mantle Clock. It is 8" tall cast iron with gold paint. Has a Cherub playing a mandolin. There is a bird on the top one of the wings is chipped off. The clock does not work needs to be fixed.

The unusual part of the clock is the writing on the bottom. This is written by someone in the early 1900's.

The bottom reads:  LEFT GO THRICE,  RIGHT 39 TWICE,  LEFT 88 STOP.

I DON'T KNOW IF THE WRITING MEANS HOW TO WIND IT? NOT SURE WHAT THAT MEANS BUT IT IS OLD WRITING.

THIS IS A WIND UP CLOCK, HAS ONE SMALL SCREW MISSING ON ONE OF THE DIALS.
